People are catching on to the leftist scam

Times Online – Less than half the population believes that human activity is to blame for global warming, according to an exclusive poll for The Times. The revelation that ministers have failed in their campaign to persuade the public that the greenhouse effect is a serious threat requiring urgent action will make uncomfortable reading for the Government as it prepares for next month’s climate change summit in Copenhagen.
Only 41 per cent accept as an established scientific fact that global warming is taking place and is largely man-made. Almost a third (32 per cent) believe that the link is not yet proved; 8 per cent say that it is environmentalist propaganda to blame man and 15 per cent say that the world is not warming. Tory voters are more likely to doubt the scientific evidence that man is to blame. Only 38 per cent accept it, compared with 45 per cent of Labour supporters and 47 per cent of Liberal Democrat voters.
No surprises on that last bit folks, we conservatives aren’t dumb and easily fooled, you can’t come around and bowl us over with half-baked movies and outright lies. We can smell socialism from a mile away, no matter how you dress it up. That crap only works on lefties who are either too stupid to know otherwise, too lazy to figure it out themselves, angling to make an easy buck or are just looking for any way to hate on humanity.
This is good news though, I think a year or two ago, most people would have just gone along with the scare-mongering green cultists simply because it was easier just to go along with the ‘harmless’ nut jobs. But things have changed a lot in a year, the financial crisis has left many of us with lighter wallets and now that some of us are starting to figure out that there is an actual price to pay, for this global warming crap they’re holding us responsible for, it’s sobering us up real fast.
I sure hope that as the hysterical braying about the end of the planet from the lefties and greenies grows shriller, more and more people will start rejecting their socialist agenda and tell them to shove their warming and move into caves themselves. This ride has gone on for long enough, time to kick the back before its too late.

Well, this IS good news, MK. Personally, I think it’s simply a scam to facilitate the one world government agenda.
Climate change probably IS happening, but it has been for, like, billions of years… the world gets colder, and then it gets warmer. It’s natural. Oh, and one single volcanic eruption spews more “greenhouse gasses” into the air than humanity ever could in thousands of years.
Let’s ban volcanoes!

I hve come to the belief that we need to put people like Al Gore, Prince Charles, etc on trial for fraud. We laugh at the whole global warming bit but it’s damaging our economy. Look at the money Gore is making.

Due to the depth of debate it is hard to draw a conclusion based on understanding all of the science. Who has time to learn all about each paper that comes out? To learn not only about sunspots but about sunspot cycle lengths. To learn about complex ocean current patterns that cycles back and forth? To learn about methods of measuring CO2 and how historical measurements of it have been utterly ignored in favor of a single new method that only gives very recent values?
And even upon learning all these things, as I did, to learn also that there is no single smoking gun that utterly topples alarmist science? Yup. Turns out, there just isn’t enough data yet to say if recent warming is anything other than natural variation. One thing can be said though: recent warming is NOT alarming.
See the best non-massaged data I have found…the world’s longest running temperature station in England. It matches a similarly long record in the Netherlands and then less long records all over Europe. And it tracks the global average temperature as well (up from 1900-1940, down from 1940-1970, up since then). This tells me that alarmism is based completely on theory and not at all on actual data. Thus “global warming” is speculative and not definite.

Also have a look at October temperatures in the USA and see if you (unlike a recent team of statisticians) can see a recent cooling trend or not:

It’s been cooling since 1940 in the USA!!! So much for “global” warming.

This can be considered good news, but, the liberal opposition probably views it as only a temporary setback. Just because we are right does not mean that we can decrease our vigilance or outspoken opposition.
For example, most citizens in the US are not for a government healthcare option. However, this seems to make little difference to those who advocate government run everything. In spite of the historical failure of socialism and its cousins Fascism and communism, our politicos are convinced that we must repeat the painful failures of history.
As a famous baseball player once said, “It ain’t over till it’s over.”, or something like that.

Remember the lesson of “The Boy Who Cried Wolf”. The assumption that there is or ever will be man-made Orwellian climate change is the big dead elephant in the room. Remember global warming? I think all the politicians on the bandwagon need to be replaced by public servants who can objectively evaluate scientific and technical data. The EPA has been dominated by extremists since the first Earth Day, and are part of the problem.

Thanks for that Nik. I recently listened to a scientist from MIT laughing at the whole thing. It’s bloody embarrassing knowing Australia is going down this road thanks to our leader.

Not sure public servants will do the job Fran, out here a lot of them are firmly on the global warming band wagon, but sacking a lot of the clowns masquerading as politicians is a start.

Its hard for me to swallow the global warming pill must less than its caused my man. Seems like recent evidence is pointing at global cooling. Seems like a ping pong ball that goes back and forth every 20-30years. Back some years ago it was the new ice age that concerned everyone and now….. I went squirrel hunting the other day and bagged several of the little critters and quickly noticed their fur was much thicker than those I shot last year about this same time. Thick fur on animals here before the unset of winter has always been a sign of a very cold winter. Not an old wifes tale, but a reality thats always served as a guide to me. Man-made global warming to me is a political ploy go gain certain special interest any advantage.
