Shove it CAIR

CAIR Chicago – The Chicago office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago) today called on the American Library Association (ALA) to drop an “Islamophobe” from a panel discussion on dispelling stereotypes about Islam. Robert Spencer, publisher of the anti-Islam Internet hate site “Jihad Watch,” is scheduled to speak July 12 on a panel, titled “Perspectives on Islam: Beyond the Stereotyping,” at the ALA annual conference in Chicago. One other panelist already withdrew in protest over Spencer’s participation.
To which Robert Spencer replies.
News to me. But interesting. One would think that if I say such odious untruths, it would be more effective for the wounded panelist in question to have stuck it out, demonstrated that what I was saying was false, and thereby ended my baneful influence forever. But no such luck — somehow, no one ever seems up to that job, oddly enough.
You can read the rest at Jihad Watch, those at CAIR really do make some outlandish claims about Spencer, all made up off course. I say that we spread the word and support Robert Spencer and the drama queens and fragile islamists at CAIR by buying his books. Not only will we be supporting him, but we’ll also be educating ourselves on the truth about Islam, the truth the likes of CAIR would much rather be swept away. Show those wankers at CAIR that many of us aren’t buying their bullshit about Spencer.

It’s par for the course, isn’t it? I agree with Chuck – they should be run out of the western world, hateful traitorous idiots that they are. They can take the ACLU with them!

First, MK, an apology for my absence from your site. I’m in the middle of a law suit — as plaintiff — and this week was filled with attorneys and paperwork. Not to mention having to tutor some students.
Anyway, I’m not surprised that the ALA caved. But what I’m most concerned about is the possible consequence that this will be used to discredit Robert Spencer as a respected source for research papers on Islam. Some students are indeed waking up, but if they aren’t allowed to use Spencer as a source for research, the reawakening will be curbed.
