The backtracking has already started.
FOX News – We didn’t start with much money or many endorsements. ……It was built by working men and women who dug into what little savings they had to give $5 and $10 and $20 to the cause.
$600 million at last count, yeah it was such a battle over there on struggle street folks, however did he manage it on the small ‘change’ he had. If that isn’t buying an election I’m not quite sure what is.
……The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even in one term. But, America, I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you, we as a people will get there.
Yes, yes, utopia is just around the corner, I promise. Just that we may not get there even with the Democrats in control of just about everything. America has lurched to the left, they’ve given King Barack and his minions the mandate they yearned for. Yet still America will have to hobble along on the scent of hope and change for who knows how long.
……There will be setbacks and false starts.
As you know most leftist plans screw up and make things worse, but have faith…. er hope, utopia is just around the corner folks, honest!
……And we know the government can’t solve every problem.
Oh is that so, this might come as news to many of your followers King Barack. Perhaps you can get one of your many minions to draw up a list of what government cannot achieve and to be specific, what your government cannot achieve. Because I’m sure you’ll be quick to point out that you government is far more capable than that Bush everyone was harping on about. While they’re busy, can we get an assurance that this list won’t be too long.
……It can’t happen without you, without a new spirit of service, a new spirit of sacrifice.
Oh sacrifice eh, collective farming perhaps. It’s alright King Barack, us rightwing losers can waffle on about socialism all we want, but it’s pretty obvious enough have chosen socialism in you, knowingly or not. Besides the elections over now, you won, so you can say what you want to now.
……So let us summon a new spirit of patriotism, of responsibility, where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves but each other.
Sounds real nice King Barack, I hate to break it to ya, but a lot of folks who voted for you were thinking more along the lines of others resolve to pitch in and work harder and look after not only themselves but us. Unless off course that’s what you meant.
In that case, what if some don’t feel like pitching in and working harder?
……And where we are met with cynicism and doubts and those who tell us that we can’t, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people: Yes, we can.
Good on ya King Barack, congratulations on winning the top job. Yes, most of us believe you can too. Now we wait patiently for you, to do.

He’s got a big mess to clean up but he’s going to fix things. Why does this sound so familiar? Anything goes wrong in Australia, it’s John Howard’s fault.
This whole thing, the media hype, the ‘tight race’, the hope against hope at the end and then the blow of the wrong person getting into power. Same scenario, different location.
He says he can. Irrelevant as you point out. I think there will be a honeymoon period and then in a year or two, he’ll start to show his true colors. Let’s see I guess.

Forget the honeymoon period Aurora, unless you mean the full 4 years. They will not abandon their messiah, for to do so would be to admit failure.

The far left is going to wind up very disappointed, MK. The reason I believe that is because Obama will not be able to keep many of the promises he made. We have to remember that he will want to be re-elected and that he will betray anyone in an effort to get re-elected! Look at how many people he’s thrown under the bus already. If he gives Reid and Pelosi everything they want he’ll have hell to pay come 2012 and he knows it. In the last week of the election he was already preparing his minions for the fact that he can’t keep all of his promises right away. There’s no way he can ever keep all of them! He’s going to have to move to the center in order to survive.
But then I’m done predicting anything. I sure was wrong about this one!

Every problem will be blamed on the Bush Administration just like they blame Howard in Australia. I am beyond predicting too Gayle. It seems like a sound prediction, but we are not dealing with soundness of anything now. So anything can happen.
I am sick of the Media, that is for sure. I am sick of Christians closing their eyes and voting against Christian principals, or maybe the true Christians are truly in a minority now and have lost any power they once might have had in this nation.
Thanks MK and Aurora for being warriors of truth. Thank you for your support and prayers for our countries. As soon as I heard that Obama was elected, I wanted to come to your sites.

Angie, thank you and God bless you too. You say you are sick of Christians closing their eyes and voting against Christian principles, I know plenty like that as well. To be honest, I feel more kindred of spirit with those of our little band of bloggers with big hearts and the will to fight than hobby Christians who waffle platitudes about how the abortion issue is contentious and we should only concentrate on charity work, etc. etc. etc.
Don’t worry, Christianity is going nowhere. It’s growing all over the world at breakneck speed and it’s going to regain its strength and fire in America too under persecution.
MK, yes I’m sure you’re right that those who voted in this dolt will never admit they’re wrong and the MSM will be with them every step of the way whitewashing everything he does. Those who choose deception will sink ever deeper into it.

About that money – $600 million! No way that it all came from small individual contributions. I betcha that a large percentage of that money is dirty, paid by dealers in anticipation of some juicy shares of city developments. If the FBI can follow the money trails, they will lead to some very embarrassing places for the Dems. I expect to hear about arrests and resignations within 2 years.
