Kevin07’s fine print

Posted by MK on May 12, 2008

kevin_rudd.jpgDaily Telegraph – The Sunday Telegraph can reveal the Prime Minister personally wrote to the industry umbrella group only days before the 2007 poll to re-assure them he would maintain existing arrangements with the levy in government. Yesterday, however, Treasurer Wayne Swan revealed major changes to be unveiled in Tuesday’s Budget, where the income threshold at which the surcharge applies will double from $50,000 to $100,000. The decision to raise the threshold means up to 2.4 million Australians will no longer need to join private health funds to avoid the penalty.

That’s the nice way of saying that Kevin07 is a lying slimeball. In fairness though Kevin08 can say, well that was 2007, it’s 2008 now suckers. And technically he is right, a bit like the slimy used car salesman who claims that piece of crap you just bought is covered by a warranty but fails to mention that only certain bits and pieces are covered. See below, he wrote the letter in 2007 and perhaps he was talking about 2007, just decided not to say ONLY, the fine print if you will. Read the rest of this entry »

Another no-go zone

Posted by MK on May 12, 2008

Daily Telegraph – Startling new figures from the NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research show that girls are increasingly coming under police scrutiny in connection with a range of crimes. There were 3622 girls aged 10 to 17 allegedly involved in criminal incidents in 1998 – a figure which rose to 5724 last year. [snip] And in parts of Sydney, they are running wild.

I suppose this could also be an unintended side-effect of the equality movement. I’m not blaming them or saying that women need to be kicked back into the kitchen or something. Rather that when you tell girls they can do the same things as boys, that can also mean they can also do the wrong things as well. None the less, can we just ensure they do the same time as boys, keeping in the spirit of equality and all that.

In inner-city Glebe, residents and business owners say assaults, robberies and vandalism are out of control – and that a gang of teenage girls is outdoing the boys. One local businessman said it was “definitely the girls” who were behind a spate of crimes in the area. “They break windows, mug people,” he said. “They’re out of control.” A string of driver bashings and thefts has prompted Dominos Pizza to declare certain parts of Glebe a no-go zone for its terrified drivers.

So under our ‘vastly superior’ gun control laws, another part of Sydney becomes a no-go zone, yay! Think that the justice system will at least punish them after the crime’s been committed, think again suckers, again the joke’s on you. See how this 12-year old has basically been a thieving little rascal all his life and because of the pathetic laws nothing can stop him. The moral of the story, if anyone’s interested, give up your guns and you will get neither justice nor protection.
