Lofter made a comment about something similar. The government should be afraid of the people.. something like that.. yes, rights must be demanded there are truly too many with their own sense of power and self interest that they will not give it up easily..

And there–in a nutshell–is the whole problem.
Rights must be demanded under the threat of massive civil violence, not granted by governments.
Government is our master, not our servant and until they learn to fear the citizens, they’ll continue squeezing and choking until they’ve achieved what they intend for us…slavery with enough bread and circuses to fool the population into thinking they’re free.
And most people don’t think deeply enough about it to either be aware or to care.

A question i often ask myself Angel, i’d say countless more before we demand change. I’m 100% sure it won’t be just given to us, no government will give us our rights back willingly, that’s for sure, because it’s simply not in their interests for us to be truly free.

MK, yes she was failed by the system. There are plenty of us who are going to feel the sting of government policy before we leave this planet. And I don’t think it’s going to change much in the short term.
Incidentally, as you say, thank goodness she’s still alive. I hope she and those around her think soberly about how blessed she is.
