Democrats and UFOs now

FOXNews - The truth is out there, and Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich had no trouble offering his version of it when asked Tuesday night about his UFO sighting. “It was an unidentified flying object, OK? It’s, like, it’s unidentified,” Kucinich said during one of the few highlights at the Democratic presidential debate in Philadelphia. “I saw something.” Kucinich went on to defend himself, saying many Americans have shared his experience. “You have to keep in mind that more — that Jimmy Carter saw a UFO and also that more people in this country have seen UFOs than I think approve of George Bush’s presidency,” Kucinich said.

And he questions the mental health of George Bush!!

Post by AR, a regular commenter at AWH - When a fifty year old disabled woman collapses in the street, you might expect neighbours to come to her aid. Not so in Northern England. Before Christine Lakinski died she was subjected to one of the vilest, most unnecessary assaults I’ve ever heard of. The details of the case are mind-boggling.

Yahoo! News, hat tip Sweetness & Light - Karl Marx, who complained of excruciating boils, actually suffered from a chronic skin disease with known psychological effects that may well have influenced his writings, a British expert said on Tuesday. Sam Shuster, professor of dermatology at the University of East Anglia, believes the revolutionary thinker had hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) in which the apocrine sweat glands — found mainly in the armpits and groin — become blocked and inflamed. “In addition to reducing his ability to work, which contributed to his depressing poverty, hidradenitis greatly reduced his self-esteem,” said Shuster, who published his findings in the British Journal of Dermatology. “This explains his self-loathing and alienation, a response reflected by the alienation Marx developed in his writing.”

The Australian - WOMEN who develop breast cancer are no more likely to have aggressive or advanced tumours if they are cigarette smokers than if they do not smoke, researchers said today. They analysed data on 6,162 women with breast cancer evaluated at the facility from 1970 to 2006, and found that whether a woman smoked did not affect whether her tumour was more advanced or particularly aggressive at the time of diagnosis.

Human Rights - Just not for you Lot

Remember that scumbag Learco Chindamo, who happens to be Italian, who stabbed a school headmaster Philip Lawrence to death. Back then the UK Home Office rightly wanted to deport this piece of filth back to Italy so he could hopefully die slowly and painfully, but some immigration judge used the Human Rights Act to keep his worthless ass in Britain and presumably live off the taxpayer for the rest of his worthless life. Well thanks to another left-wing fool another piece of filth gets to live in the UK and presumably will live his worthless life off the taxpayer.

Daily Mail - A serial sex offender who admits attacking 11 women has escaped deportation after a judge said it would breach his human rights. The Home Office argued that Mohammed Kendeh, 21, had a “high risk of reoffending” and should be sent back to Sierra Leone. But Sir Henry Hodge, Britain’s top immigration judge and the husband of Culture Minister Margaret Hodge, said although the sex attacker had been refused British citizenship and was likely to offend again, he must be allowed to stay here. Sir Henry said sending him home would breach his rights to a family life under the European Commission of Human Rights, and agreed with an earlier ruling that the prolific offender is “one of us”. Kendeh’s sex offences rampage began when he was 15 - two years after he became a heavy cannabis smoker - and he has also committed burglary, arson and drug offences.

Traffic Taliban - Nailed!!

October 31, 2007 at 4:04 am | In Britain, Road Rules | 1 Comment

For two years Chief Constable Meredydd Hughes led the crusade against speeding drivers. There was little sympathy for anyone clocked on police cameras and he demanded tougher sentences for hit-and-run motorists and those causing death by dangerous driving. So many might think it the height of hypocrisy for the recent head of roads policing for the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) to be summoned to court for speeding.

Mr Hughes, the Chief Constable of South Yorkshire, is accused of driving at 90mph in a 60mph zone in Halton, North Wales. The alleged offence by the holidaying Mr Hughes happened in May on the patch of Richard Brunstrom, a fellow chief constable whose reputation-for persecuting motorists led him to be nicknamed the Mad Mullah of the Traffic Taliban. Now Mr Hughes could face an automatic driving ban for driving 30mph over the limit.

The nanny-state rolls on

October 31, 2007 at 3:57 am | In Britain | 3 Comments

Daily Mail - Millions of families are to be given barcoded wheelie bins in a computerised system to spy on people’s rubbish. It will be used to send automatic £100 fines to people who put out too much refuse or break strict rules on when they leave their bins out. The barcodes, to be brought in by a group of 27 councils, can also be used to enforce pay-as-you-throw taxes.

They’ll never stop regulating you England, they’ll be on your case in the street, at work, every where you turn, you’ll be hobbled by laws, taxes and bloody fines, even at home, until you’re dead. Then they’ll tax whatever you left behind as a final kick to your teeth for being born in the first place. I can see people starting to dump in the streets, in other peoples bins and whatever else to avoid these bastards as the fines kick in, much as I’d rather people not do that, but what else can you do.

Washington Times - He says he was tortured as a teenager. He watched as his mother and brother were executed, and until he was 20 years old, North Korean Shin Dong-hyuk had heard of neither Kim Il-sung nor Kim Jong-il. In a testimony to stunned journalists yesterday, Mr. Shin, the first North Korean defector to the South who was born in the North’s notorious gulag, revealed a nightmarish world in which inmates and their children suffer lifetime incarceration, are kept ignorant of outside society and undergo forms of torture that are medieval in their barbarism.

U.S. and Yemeni officials confirmed the visit but declined to discuss details about its length or substance. “We were able to physically confirm the presence of Jamal Badawi at a prison in Aden,” a State Department official said.

JPost - An IAF missile hit a police station in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis late Tuesday, Palestinians said, and rescue workers said at least four Hamas men were killed. The IDF confirmed it carried out an air strike, saying the target was a Hamas position in southern Gaza. Meanwhile, an Egyptian police official anounced that three Palestinians arrested earlier this month in a secret border tunnel linking Gaza and Egypt are members of an al-Qaida-inspired group that had planned to carry out suicide attacks in Israel. The official said the men were members of the Palestinian terrorist group Army of Islam, which had claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of captured IDF soldier Cpl. Gilad Schalit and BBC correspondent Alan Johnston.

FOXNews - Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich questioned President Bush’s mental health in light of comments he made about a nuclear Iran precipitating World War III. “I seriously believe we have to start asking questions about his mental health,” Kucinich, an Ohio congressman, said in an interview with The Philadelphia Inquirer’s editorial board on Tuesday. “There’s something wrong. He does not seem to understand his words have real impact.” Kucinich, known for his liberal views, trails far behind the leading candidates in most Democratic polls. He was in Philadelphia for a debate at Drexel University.

Have another lemon Dennis, perhaps after that you can explain why you’re still in the race for president, just tell your moonbat supporters to vote for the next guy. Then again, you don’t really have to, it’s not like they have the brains to vote for a Republican anyway so who else are they going to vote for.

Those same men and women in the United States armed forces are enforcing peace through superior firepower.

FOXNews - American warships battled pirates Tuesday who had seized a tanker off the coast of Somalia as well as another vessel northeast of Mogadishu, combined reports said. In the waters off Somalia, the warships reportedly sunk two pirate vessels and pursued a hijacked skiff carrying some of the fleeing hijackers. The crew of the tanker Golden Mori, which was hijacked Sunday night, reportedly fought back and overpowered their attackers, regaining control of the vessel, maritime officials said.

The Republican party was founded to abolish slavery and get this, Democrats founded the Ku Klux Klan. Democrats opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Senator Al Gore Sr. opposed equal rights for blacks.
There are more Blacks, Hispanics and Asians in the Bush Administration than in any other Administration in American history.
In the 2000 election, those who voted for Al Gore had higher family incomes than those who voted for George Bush.
As of July 2004, The oil & gas industry donated $15 million to the GOP, while trial lawyers donated a $112 million to Democratic candidates, and we all know how crucial trial lawyers are to the functioning of society don’t we.

Surge working - Taliban confirms

In the last few weeks, I’ve read numerous accounts of many Taliban dying at the hands of coalition forces, 20 here, 50 there, they’re really catching it, and yet they’re still coming back for more. Looks like they have noticed what’s happening over in Iraq, Muslims turning on their scumbag allies AQI (Al-Qaeda in Iraq), so they’re probably getting desperate to hold on and turn things around with more violence and murdering.

Telegraph.co.uk - An Afghan tribal leader is in talks to defect from the Taliban and take thousands of armed tribesmen with him to fight alongside British forces in southern Afghanistan. The Daily Telegraph has learned that the Afghan government hopes to seal the deal this week with Mullah Abdul Salaam and his Alizai tribe, which has been fighting alongside the Taliban in Helmand province.

The Australian - PETER Garrett’s political credentials were in tatters last night after Kevin Rudd forced his environment spokesman to issue a humiliating clarification of Labor’s greenhouse gas policy. The backdown came after a Labor crisis meeting, which followed a day of sustained assault by John Howard and senior ministers on Mr Garrett’s approach to a new post-Kyoto climate accord. Mr Garrett started the day by committing a Labor government to signing a new global agreement on greenhouse gas emissions targets that might not include developing nations, such as China and India.

Looks like everyone’s squealing over Kyoto, what do we want - Kyoto, when do we want it -Now!! Pleasure doing business with you comrade, now wipe that confused look off your face and hand over your wallet, no buts, shut it… hand it over or else.

Alex Robson, News.com.au - But Kyoto has very little to do with reasonableness. Just ask the New Zealanders. Our friends across the ditch signed up to Kyoto in December 2002, even though a 2001 National Interest Analysis on the case for ratifying the Kyoto Protocol could not decide whether moderate global warming would be detrimental or beneficial for New Zealanders. Helen Clark’s Government ignored this information and committed her country to a program of reducing emissions over the 2008-12 period to 1990 levels or to take responsibility for the difference.

Aren’t knives banned in Britain?

October 29, 2007 at 6:06 am | In Britain, Crime, Knife Possession Laws | 1 Comment

Daily Mail - Figures from 37 police forces, published by the Mail on Sunday, showed there were 5,500 serious crimes involving knives in just three months this year. The statistic equates to one every 24 minutes, around the clock, and includes 55 knife-related murders, more than 2,000 stabbings and almost 2,500 muggings at knifepoint.

I thought knives were banned in Britain, just like guns, I mean Britain is a gun-free utopia isn’t it, so why don’t they just ban knives, and if they have banned them already, ban them again, pound your fist harder on the table when banning them this time, that ought to work.

That’s the shallow vote all wrapped up

A large swathe of swinging voters in marginal electorates may still be making up their mind about who will lead the country, but on the ARIA red carpet the answer was clear: it’s Labor, Greens or bust. The Australian rock music industry has traditionally been tilted toward the progressive end of the scale and with political agitators Powderfinger, John Butler Trio and the Hilltop Hoods still massive on the scene, that’s showing no sign of changing. The vast majority have backed Kevin Rudd’s campaign (with varying degrees of eloquence) although some opted to stay right out of it. LiveNews.

So has Mr. Rudd got a guarantee from the US that they will sign Kyoto once we sign it, in that display of Mandarin the other week, did he obtain an agreement from the Chinese that they would sign up to Kyoto once Australia and the US signed up? And say we sign the wretched thing, what exactly is Mr Rudd going to do if the Chinese tell him to get stuffed on Kyoto, is he going to send the Australian Navy after them or something? Is he going to tear up Kyoto like he will tear up the IR laws that has brought us so many jobs?

The Australian - LABOR would not expect developing countries to sign up to new binding carbon emissions agreements at the same time as developed ones, Peter Garrett said today. Speaking before the announcement of $200 million to help the Great Barrier Reef deal with climate change, Mr Garrett, Labor’s environment spokesman, said that since most of the heat caused in the atmosphere today was due to developed countries’ emissions, it was right that they should lead the way in international agreements to reduce pollution.
